About
The Carnegie Mellon Embedded Systems Club (CMESC) grew out of CMU's MITRE Embedded CTF team in 2025. After years of competing together, we noticed that embedded systems and hardware security pull from so many different disciplines—cryptography, firmware, hardware design, DevOps—that it made sense to organize as a club. That way we could better coordinate our work, bring in new members, and share what we've learned along the way.
Our mission is pretty straightforward: give Carnegie Mellon students hands-on experience in embedded systems through projects, skill-building, participating in embedded systems competitions, and industry connections. Whether you're deep into low-level firmware or just curious about how hardware and software come together, there's a place for you here.
